I think we can all agree that The Rona turned our lives upside down and has caused us to change a lot of things in our lives. We had to quickly adjust, but we did. But, 2 weeks of quarantine turned into months and now we are hearing that things might be like this well into 2021.
What about The Arts?
Band, chorus, theatre... What happens to them? I've heard of the Zoom productions and of course we all see the choirs in individual boxes... but what about rehearsals, etc? It is easier for advanced musicians to get sheet music or a reference track and duplicate it, but what about children? What do we do during this time? What do we have to change moving forward? What will never be like it was....
Where is it heading now??
I have no idea, but I do know that innovation will be the key. In the meantime... Cultivate those interests anyway you can. No child should have to give up playing or singing because they are no longer having music class. And, shameless plug, but this is why Music Matters Kids! and Music Matters with JAQ exists. We want to help! No matter where the world is music is still important and it still matters.
